Craig who recently joined the FlexGen family as a Logistics Specialist received a BA in General Business from the University of Houston-Victoria. He is currently an MBA candidate (Spring 2024) at UHV. He began his professional career in oil and gas within the upstream completion services division and has worked in various positions across Operations, Sales, Tech Support, Supply Chain and Logistics roles over roughly the past two decades. Throughout his professional career, Craig has demonstrated the ability to build the necessary relationships required in order to complete projects and deliver results. As a Technical Lead working for Halliburton Energy Services, he took on a leadership role while implementing a new resin technology into South Texas Field Operations that targeted remedial cementing applications.
Craig also has experience directing product testing in the laboratory, sourced materials and equipment, engineered designs and procedures, and provided training to key personnel; essentially, from the customer pitch to the point of delivery. He is also accustomed to delivering technology and services that improve efficiency and maximize production for customers while simultaneously achieving superior growth and returns to shareholders.
Having a previous rapport with a few colleagues at FlexGen from his previous role with the NA Logistics Group helped make the decision to come to FlexGen easy.. When the opportunity came up to join the sourcing team at FlexGen, he was super excited. Up until this point, he has spent his entire career within the Oil and Gas industry; so, in addition to working alongside old teammates again, Craig certainly was not opposed to branching out and engaging in something different and innovative. FlexGen is a leader in today’s energy transition and is currently revolutionizing the conventional grid power system worldwide.
“The energy storage market is on the rise with no signs of slowing down, and there is a tremendous amount of growth potential for individuals who are currently within or just entering the industry. The future is electric.” His goal with FlexGen is to enhance the efficiency of inbound logistics by mitigating current supply chain issues. In addition, he is also interested in helping the company expand its global footprint by pursuing future opportunities abroad.
When asked about what is the biggest misconception people have about your position? Craig replied, “As consumers, we don’t necessarily stop to consider the intricate web of activity that takes place for us to do something as simple as filling up our car with gas, or even here recently, plugging into an EV charging station. From purchasing groceries to a new pair of shoes, consumers rely on each member within the supply chain to contribute their part in order to deliver what they need, when they need it. Due to the vast behind-the-scenes efforts provided largely by Logistics Professionals, this complex journey is virtually invisible to the consumer population. But as this industry continues to flourish, organizations are now faced with the challenge of attracting new talent in a trade that is largely unseen by the general public. Though this might be the current situation, as technology continues to evolve and provides consumers with a deeper look into the complexity of the supply chain world, perhaps it will offer a new appreciation for the vital role logistics plays in our everyday lives.”
