Introducing Corbin Mitchell, FlexGen’s Procurement Specialist

FlexGen is pleased to welcome Corbin Mitchell to the team

Having a BBA from Sam Houston State University, Corbin started his career in the oil and gas industry back in 2018 as a logistics coordinator. During his time in that role, he was able to learn about the day-to-day planning process for trucking logistics and came up with creative solutions for everyday problems. His favorite part of this role was the opportunity to build relationships with people. Whether it was the relationship between the crew, carrier, or coworkers, he wanted to build that trust with those around him and create a positive environment to make their days more enjoyable. Corbin worked in that capacity for the next 3 years before earning the opportunity to become a Regional Logistics Manager which elevated his skills in data analyzing, forecasting, and customer facing presentations.

During Corbin’s career at Halliburton, he made connections with a few people on the FlexGen team that he enjoyed working with.  “When an opportunity came up to join the FlexGen team, I was eager to get all the details. After researching the role and understanding what a great opportunity this was, it was a no-brainer that this is where I wanted to be.” Corbin’s goal during his time with FlexGen is to continue growing professionally and personally. “To be a sponge and take in as much information as possible, as well as learn how to utilize that information so I can be an asset to my team and the company.”

During his logistics roles, he worked hand in hand with procurement.  As he got to know that team, he became more and more interested in a purchasing position but due to outsourcing at his previous company, Corbin was unable to make the switch.  After he was informed of the availability of this position at FlexGen and he saw that it was in the energy storage industry, Corbin had to take a chance. And as he learned about FlexGen, Corbin felt like this was an opportunity that he could not pass up.
