Introducing Iris Su, FlexGen’s Senior System Engineer

May 19, 2022FlexGen welcomes Iris Su, our newest Senior System Engineer. Iris studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan, and has previous experience working with batteries. She first worked for Li-ion design and manufacturing company that helped develop her passion for batteries and energy. After increasing her knowledge about the energy storage and technology sector, she came to work for a storage company a few years before joining FlexGen.

While already in the energy storage industry, Iris saw that FlexGen was involved in a variety of applications beyond what she had experience in. This in turn sparked her interest in her quest for knowledge to join an innovative team. As she had already seen, first hand, the huge opportunity for growth. With her time here with FlexGen, Iris hopes to learn more about the variety of applications for energy storage, especially EV charging, and the different roles an ESS company can play in the development of a project.

While working in energy storage felt like a natural progression according to Iris, her first role helped her learn the importance of batteries and how they will help the energy landscape transition away from fossil fuels. “It was a no-brainer that batteries could help ease the burdens of the grid and make better use of renewable energy and I wanted to be part of making that happen!”
